Atlantic City, when the World War I had just finished. The value of shares of Wall Street's growing soar and anything can be traded. This period is also a time of change which the women were given rights to vote, a new radio broadcast and the young man rule the world.

Atlantic City became a part of the sea trade routes, just few minutes from Philadelphia, a few hours from New York City, even less than a day trip to Chicago, Atlantic City became the center of alcohol trading.

The place of pleasure, known as The Worlds Playground, a location where there are no regulations. Major hotels that lined in the Boardwalk, presenting a nightclub and entertainment that does not want to lose in competing with Broadway.

With a few dollars, a worker can escape from their daily life and living like a king, either by legal or illegal.

Nucky Thompson who was a treasurer of the city controls the Atlantic City, New Jersey during the Prohibiton era until 1930s. He is a politician behind the scenes that have the same portion between the politicians and the mafia. He feels comfortable to run both these roles.

Nucky Thompsom also do business with Arnold Rothstein, 'Big Jim' Colosimo, 'Lucky' Luciano. And the America's best known gangster, the single greatest symbol of the collapse of law and order in the United States during the 1920s Prohibition, Al Capone.

Empire Broadwalk received two Golden Globe Awards awards from three nominations. One for Best Drama Series, one for Steve Buscemi as the Best Male Actor.
