Hollywood Legend Elizabeth Taylor Dies at 79



Elizabeth Taylor, one of Hollywood's biggest stars, passed away.

The actress who is usually called Liz Taylor died on Wednesday, March 23 at the age of 79 years because of congestive heart failure.

Liz Taylor has a history of serious illness. She once had a brain tumour, skin cancer, pneumonia and has undergone hip replacement. Over the last five years, Liz uses a wheelchair. She last appeared in public while attending the funeral of Michael Jackson.

Last February she was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital from heart failure. Earlier, November 2004, Liz has been hospitalized for the same disease. The Cleopatra movie star has never undergone heart surgery in 2009. After hearing the news of the death of Michael Jackson, Liz also had a heart attack.

With the full name Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor, she was born in Hampstead, one of the prosperous regions in the UK. A British-American actress, started her career in acting at the age of nine years with the film entitled There's One Born Every Minute.

Liz Taylor has become a star since the age of 12 years, but have ups and downs in her life. She married and divorced at the age of 18, would not be surprised if one of Hollywood's golden age also has a variety of controversies.

She starred in more than 50 movies, ranging from the classic movie National Velvet, the comedy Father of the Bride up to the Oscar-winning movies such as Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf and Butterfield 8.

Taylor's golden age occurred in the era of 1955 through 1979. In 1960, Liz became the highest-paid actress when she signed a one million dollar contract to play in Cleopatra.
Liz won the first Academy Awards for Best Actress category for her role as Gloria Wandrous in Butterfield 8 in 1960. In the movie, she played with Eddie Fisher, actor who later became her husband.

Has a degree as a Hollywood star at the top of fame, makes Liz into a glamorous lifestyle. In 1980, she was addicted to alcohol and should be in rehab. Besides well known for her achievements, Liz Taylor's career is not far from controversy. She was married eight times, with seven times that ended in divorce. Liz twice married and twice divorced from the famous actor Richard Burton. Total of all marriages, Liz have four children.
